This natural sharpening stone produces microscopic grains.The passage of a razor edge over the wet stone frees the garnets from the surface.
These together with the water form an abrasive paste so fine that they give the edge a shiny (flawless) appearance. In addition, the fineness as well as the speed of the sharpening are not negligible assets.It is for these reasons that these stones are so sought after.
